The test results from the DNA color testing of six Chows by the University of California-Davis Veterinary Genetics Lab are back for the first six chows submitted for testing. The test results of a seventh chow (Gloria), being a light clear red, have not yet been provided.

DNA samples were provided for the following colors: Black, blue, cinnamon, two reds, one being a dark red with a little black in the coat and the other being a light red with no black in the coat and two creams, one being the typical cream color and the other being Nash, the apricot with the flesh nose.

More in depth information about the dogs tested and on how to interpret the results contained in the report are available on this page. As the interaction of the dog coat color genes is complicated, we encourage everyone to read the wealth of information presented on that page and then read the report.
