Dogs have a keen sense of smell that is about 100,000 times stronger than humans. This makes your dog naturally nosey and wanting to "read the newspaper" when you're on walks. That strong sense of smell is the reason why dogs are well suited for emergency search-and-rescue work.

 

The AKC Tracking event is where your dog can demonstrate this natural ability to recognize and follow a scent. It’s a perfect way for you and your dog to enjoy many hours together, outside in the fresh air, working on his natural abilities. In this vigorous outdoor activity, a dog only needs to complete one track successfully to earn each title.
