Chow Club FAQ's

• How do I become a member?
   

  On the left side of the home page, you'll see a button called "Club Information". Click that button and you'll be taken to a screen with a list of items. Click on "Membership Application". This will take you to a page where you'll find the requirements for application, a description of the membership process, and a membership application that you can print and fill out.
  
• I'm a regional Chow club member. How do I get my club's contact information and events listed on the website?
   

  The CCCI has a Regional Club Liason that keeps track of regional club information and events. To update your club's information, look for the "Club Directory" button on the left side of the home page. Click that and you'll be presented with a list of CCCI contacts and committee heads. Scroll through the list until you find the Regional Club Liason. Contact that person with your updates. Alternately, you can send your information to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will take care of it for you, plus I'll forward it to the Regional Club Liason.

• I registered but I'm unable log in as a member. Why not?
   

  To log in as a CCCI member, you must be issued a special User Name and Password by the webmaster. If you are a member, you can receive a User Name and Password by writing to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and asking for it.
  

Breeder Directory FAQ's

• I'm a Chow breeder. How do I get listed in the Breeder Directory?
   

  The Breeder Directory is limited to Chow Chow Club, Inc. members only. The online directory is a paid service. Member/breeders must pay an annual fee and sign the Club's Code Of Ethics. • I'm a Chow breeder. How do I get my dogs' pictures in the Breeder Showcase?

Award Winners FAQ's

• My dog was Winners at a past National Specialty. How come his picture isn't on the website?
   

  The Gallery of Award Winners is a new feature and we're still adding dogs to it. It may be some time before we have everyone up and we ask for your patience.
  

Pedigree Database FAQ's

• My Chow is in your Pedigree Database but his information is incorrect. How do I change it?
   

  Go to the Pedigree Database's home page at http://chowhealth.org. Look down the button bar on the left side of the screen until you see a button that says "Submit Pedigree". Click that button and you'll be taken to a submission form where you can enter your dog's corrected data. Submissions are reviewed and entered into the database by the webmaster and uploaded to the site as soon as possible.
• My Chow isn't in the Pedigree Database. How do I put him there?
   

  Go to the Pedigree Database's home page at http://chowhealth.org. Look down the button bar on the left side of the screen until you see a button that says "Submit Pedigree". Click that button and you'll be taken to a submission form where you can enter your dog's data and upload a picture. Submissions are reviewed and entered into the database by the webmaster and uploaded to the site as soon as possible.
• The previous database used to calculate breeding coefficients. Why doesn't this one?
   

  I'm working on providing this feature but have been frustrated by the various methods used to calculate coefficients which all produce different results! There are also server performance issues involved in the calculations that I am trying to overcome.
  
• There are some incomplete pedigrees here that used to be complete in the old database.
   

  The previous CCCI pedigree database is being incorporated into the Chow Health pedigree database. I am working on this as fast as I can but the process takes time as the data for each dog is compared individually between the two databases and missing information is entered. If you know specific dogs whose data is incomplete, let me know who they are and I'll work on those first. I appreciate your patience during this changeover.

Chow Health Website FAQ's

• I see that there are pictures of Chows on the home page and other pages of the site. How are those pictures chosen?
   

  Pictures for display are chosen randomly by the server from the thousands of photos in the pedigree database. New pictures appear every time the page is refreshed.
  

National Specialty Show FAQ's

• What is the National Specialty?
   

  The National Specialty is the Chow Chow Club, Inc.'s annual dog show. Chow Chows from all over the U.S. and Canada compete in conformation and obedience at this premier event. Educational seminars and events just for fun are also held at the National, along with the CCCI's annual membership meeting. The location of the National Specialty rotates across the U.S. by time zones each year. Regional Chow clubs and host groups apply several years in advance to host the show. The show draws hundreds of Chow Chows and spectators from all over the world. You don't have to be a member of the CCCI to attend the National Specialty. The National is an excellent opportunity for you to see Chows of the highest quality, meet breeders, make new friends, and learn more about our breed.
